Ok, Heidi, you were right they are quick reads. Books 1 and 2 aren't even going to make it to my flight, so I had to order some more last night with expedited shipping (doubled my order amount, should have taken your advice in the first place!)

Anyway, away from the rant and onto the book. I was surprised not to see Tara. I guess she's just a figment of HBO. And that's just fine because she is the most annoying character and I was relieved. But I was bummed Lafayette is such a small character. He is only mentioned a few times. But the show has really done alot with him and I love it.

I love Eric in this too and I can't wait until Bill is ditched for him. I hope my next week I'm waaaayy past the TV series. Where the first few chapters are almost line for line with the series, it's already taking different turns. So right now this is a good substitution since I don't have HBO. It's kinda turning into a true blood universe (with no Tara, lol!)

i was sad about lafayette also. i was relieved when it wasn't him in the show and andy's car and it was the exorcism/rite aid lady instead.
she does have a friend named tara in the books but nothing like tara on the show so i'm not sure what's up with all that.

Glad you enjoyed it. I really liked the books. For me, they had a completely different feel than the HBO show. The books are humorous and a lil more fanciful. The show is more sex filled and dramatic. Its nice in some ways that the show uses the basic ideas of the books- but totally makes it a new show and doesnt follow the books exactly. Then im not just seeing a glorified screen play of something ive already read and pictured in my mind. Thats kind of how Harry Potter has gotten for me, for example. Im like yah yah already read it, know whats going to happen and liked the books lots better. boring. True Blood at least keeps me on my toes and excited to see what the producers will put into play next.

oh yeah- i still don't understand what Bubba is. Part vampire, but they wouldn't mention the rest. I just didn't get it. Something went wrong when he was made... Made into what then?

Ohhh, ok. So you aren't supposed to get it the first time he appears, and he'll be back? I thought he was a one time characters. But if he'll be back, then yes thank you for not spoiling.
